Eel is our dear friend, she is 24 years old, sweet, quick tempered, smart, loyal & dedicated (to her job, family and friends) yet so loveable. Currently, she occupied as a personal assistant in an IT company and also as Operational Manager at kutukutubuku.com Yeah! she is very hard working too! what more could you ask from a girl?
Here is how it was all started. Once upon a time during our lunch break, somebody brought up the issue of soulmate. The thing is...everytime we discuss about love life, somehow we always ended up focusing on Eel. I mean with all the plus points she has, is a wonder why she has never have a boyfriend before or fall in love to a guy in that matter. Wery nosy you may say and i'm not going to denied that hehe but we also truly care about her. She point out that she simply has never met anyone that "click" and after all this time she becoming skeptical about this soulmate idea.
After weeks of the endless soulmate conversation, we have finally manage to pull this project together. The idea is to assist our friend eel to find her soulmate. We made a website http://www.salsabeela.com/eelproject/ where people can find out about eel, about this project, the gallery, the instruction of "how to date" with eel, also a link to eel's blog.

What interesting about this show is not how they enjoy their new life as "someone" in hollywood, not their glamour and expensive lifestyle, not the heavy partying with hot chicks sticking hard like stamp to envelop, but it's their cute-kinda-way friendship that interest me. I like how they are still stick with each other after too many years of friendship, how they try to solve each other problems, how they seem to know everything about each other so well that it's sometimes annoying, and how they fight with each other of course!

We lost at the business start up competititon...huhuhu feel so sad since we could really use the winning money for upgrading our business. Anyway, for the sake of optimism spirit, i believe that 1 failure will lead to many other opportunities.

Friday, September 15, 2006 Weekend in Bandung
Ini cerita sambungan dari postingan Bandung Historical Walk. Setelah kelar dari acara jjs, pulang, mandi trus lanjut acara belanja di FO! Badan dan kaki yang pegal tiba2 menguap begitu terdengar kata "belanja" ehhehe. Anyway, gw cukup menahan diri dan berhasil menyelesaikan acara belanja dengan cuma membeli 1 baju. Setelah dr FO kita berencana ke ciwalk tapi tdk jadi karena denger2 agnes lagi manggung disaha, alhasil jalanan di sana macet berat. Akhirnya dgn petunjuk temannya riska, kita menuju sebuah outdoor foodcourt (lokasi: pasar kaliki, hypermall --> i dun no if i get this right) yang ternyata sangat meriah dan rame. Ada live band nya juga yg ok banget. Minggu sebelum menuju pulang ke jakarta, kami menyempatkan untuk singgah di Sam's Strawberry dan makan yammie kumplit dan minum strawberry laychi. Hei! it's so yummy!! especially the strawberry laychi...i think i'm already addicted to it. |
Monday, September 11, 2006 Business Start Up Competition 2006 at Binus
Sekitar sebulan lalu, universitas binus mengirim email ke toko buku online kutukutubuku.com untuk mengajak mengikuti binus start up competition. Ajang ini diperkenankan untuk binus graduate yang saat ini memulai usaha baru yang usianya kurang dari 2 tahun. Berhubung j tamatan binus maka akhirnya kita pun daftar jadi peserta.
Persiapan nya cukup repot karena harus menyiapkan business plan, ikhtisar keuangan dll... Secara selama ini business plan kutukutubku adalah "No Plan" maka kami sempat keropatan nyiapin business plan nya. Setelah melawati proses macam2, akhirnya kami terpilih masuk sebagai 10 besar dan diperkenankan membuka booth di kampus anggrek, binus, untuk memperkenalkan usaha baru kami kepada anak-anak binus.
Hari ini kami mulai membuka booth nya jadi gw cuti sehari dr kantor dan sukurlah ditemenin ama mbak eri disini. Pengunjung tampak cukup antusias dengan ide beli buku online ini...so yah..i hope dengan ikutnya kutukutubuku di acara2 seperti ini bisa semakin meningkatkan antusias dan kepercayaan masyarakat akan adanya toko2 online di indonesia. There are still 4 days to go for this exhibition. gam ba te!

Bandung Historical Walk
Jumat kemaren after hour, gw, ollie, anang, dhani & riska berangkat ke bandung naek mobil ollie. Agak macet sedikit waktu mau naik tol tapi setelah masuk tol sudah lancar banget dan we finally arrive there in 2 hours. We stayed at Riska house.
Sabtu pagi kita bangun jam 6 pagi siap2 untuk ngumpul jam 7 di depan hotel preanger untuk ikutan acara Bandung Historical Walk yang diselenggarakan oleh Bandung Trails www.bandungtrails.org Gw, ollie & anang kompakan make T-shirt kutukutubuku.com heheh.
Nyampe disana, sudah banyak yang berkumpul. Kami dibagi-bagi dalam kelompok2 kecil dengan 1 tour guide. Tour guide kami, laris, mulai dengan membagi2 goodie bag yg isinya aqua, peta bandung dan beberapa selebaran lain. Dari selebaran yang dibagi itu, i found out bahwa pada tahun 2001, Bandung masuk 10 besar kota dengan art deco terkeren! It's quite an achievement dont you think? Dhani, Ollie & Riska yg niat banget foto2 sudah mengeluarkan perlengkapan fotografi masing2 dan mulai jepret kiri kanan. Gw yang tdk punya kamera merelakan diri jadi korban jepret dengan senang hati =).
Perjalanan dimulai dari hotel Preanger melewati kilometer 0 kota bandung (ada monumennya nya yang berupa kereta tua). Alkisah di monumen ini lah dimana Daendels menancapkan tonggak kayu saat pembuatan jalan pertama di kota Bandung, de groote postweg. DI depan monumen ini terdapat hotel bersejarah Savoy Homan dimana tamu petinggi2 negara menginap pada saat konferensi Asia Afrika tahun 1955. Melewati hotel Savoy Homan berdiri toko padang (department store pertama di bandung). The building structure looks really nice! i love it!! sayangnya sekarang bangunann ini sudah terbengkalai =(
Rute selanjutnya ke gedung PLN (yg didalamnya ada sumur bersejarah -->sumur bandung), lalu ke Alun-alun, melihat Pendopo yang sekarang jadi rumah dinas Walikota Bandung, mengunjungi makam R. Wiranatakusumah di balik pertokoan di jalan Dalem Kaum. Selepas dari makam, kami ke jalan Banceuy, melihat sisa penjara Banceuy dimana Bung Karno pernah ditahan.
Historical building lainnnya yang kami lewati selama perjalanan termasuk gedung Swarha (sekarang toko indra), gedung Bank Escompto (bank pertama di kota Bandung, sekarang dipake Bank Mandiri), jalan braga, bank indonesia (dulunya Javasche Bank), Kathedral St. Peter (di jalan jawa), gedung KODAM (dulunya Gedung Sabau).
Perjalanan berakhir di Gedung Sate. Capek banget!!! Setiba di gedung sate, kami langsung disuguhi cendol dan lunch berupa nasi timbel. Setelah lunch, kami dapat memasuki gedung sate yang dalamnya sangat "grand". Kami menaiki tangga kayu sempit untuk mencapai puncak gedung sate dimana kita dapat melihat pemandangan kota bandung. Amazing!

Friday Lunch - Abuba Steak
Rencana potluck di rumah roni ditunda, so jumat kemaren kita akhirnya makan siang ke abuba (jakarta selatan). I ordered T-bone steak (local obviously) and the others went for the sirloin steak. Rasanya sedikit kaget waktu melihat T-bone nya yg gede banget plus kentang goreng berminyak dan sayuran. Looks & taste yummy =) However after the meal i feel like i have enough meat supply for a month. After lunch kita ke sam's strawberry di deket CCF jaksel dan beli jus strawberry seger! wah enak banget deh! Balik kantor telat deh...
